Modern Slavery Statement
Kennington Movers Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Kennington Movers has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business operations and supply chains. Kennington Movers recognises that modern slavery is a serious global issue and is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
Kennington Movers maintains a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour. We do not accept any practice that exploits people, undermines their dignity, or denies their fundamental rights. This applies to every area of our business, including our own operations, partner organisations, and wider supply chains.
All employees, contractors, and suppliers are expected to adhere to this policy. Any breach of our zero-tolerance approach is treated as a serious matter and may result in disciplinary action, termination of contracts, and, where appropriate, reporting to relevant authorities.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Kennington Movers operates within the removals and relocation sector, providing moving, storage, and associated services to residential and commercial customers. Our supply chains include providers of vehicles, fuel, equipment, packaging materials, storage facilities, IT systems, and professional services. We recognise that the risk of modern slavery can exist at multiple points within these supply chains, particularly where there are complex sourcing arrangements or use of subcontracted labour.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We are committed to working only with suppliers and partners who share our values and demonstrate respect for human rights. Kennington Movers expects suppliers to comply with all applicable labour, employment, and human rights laws, and to ensure that modern slavery does not occur within their organisations or supply chains.
We are implementing a structured approach to supplier due diligence and audits, which includes the following measures. Conducting risk-based assessments of new and existing suppliers, taking into account sector, geography, and the nature of the services provided. Requesting confirmation from suppliers that they have policies and controls in place to prevent modern slavery. Including contractual provisions that require compliance with modern slavery laws and our zero-tolerance stance. Undertaking periodic reviews and audits of higher risk suppliers to verify adherence to these standards and address any concerns identified.
If a supplier is found to be involved in modern slavery practices, directly or indirectly, Kennington Movers will seek prompt remediation. Where remediation is not possible or adequate, we will seek to terminate the relationship in a responsible manner.
Training and Awareness
Kennington Movers provides training and guidance to relevant employees so they understand what modern slavery is, how to recognise warning signs, and how to respond to concerns. This includes managers, supervisors, and employees involved in procurement, recruitment, or supplier management. We aim to build a culture where respect for human rights is embedded into day to day decision making.
Reporting Concerns and Protection
We encourage all employees, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions about modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected to our business. Reports can be made to line managers or senior management, or through other internal reporting channels made available within the company. Concerns can be raised in confidence and will be taken seriously, investigated promptly, and handled sensitively.
Kennington Movers does not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith. We will ensure that those who speak up are protected and supported throughout the investigation process.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Kennington Movers is committed to continual improvement in our approach to identifying and addressing the risk of modern slavery. We regularly review our policies, procedures, and training programmes to ensure they remain effective, practical, and aligned with evolving best practice.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed and updated on an annual basis by the senior management team. The review considers changes in our operations, feedback from stakeholders, supplier performance, and any incidents or emerging risks. Where necessary, we will strengthen our controls and take additional steps to prevent and address modern slavery within our business and supply chains.
This Statement has been approved by the leadership of Kennington Movers and represents our ongoing commitment to tackling modern slavery and promoting ethical, lawful, and responsible business practices.
